Blood Status: Pureblood
Appearance:
A Weasley to the bone, Ginny has bright red hair that she keeps long and is usually a bit messy. Her skin is creamy and freckled (the more so when she spends time in the sun, as she loves to do); her eyes are a bright clear brown. The Weasley's seem to come in two types… long and lean (Ron) or short and compact (Fred & George). Ginny definitely falls into the latter category. She is only 5'2" and comes in at 8 stone. It is all compact muscle honed during the hours she spends on the pitch. Though she is definitely one of the boys, there is quite a girl under her clothes. Ginny is very confident & comfortable in her skin. She has no real problem with her appearance but does not suffer from vanity. Her style is quite casual, a bit tomboyish at times… she often looks fresh off the pitch.

PB: Karoline Herfurth.
Personality:
Ginny is quite a complex character. On one hand, she is by nature a happy person. She is an optimist and believes that anything is possible if you simply have the nerve to go after it. On the other hand, she is quite serious & grounded… Ginny is not afraid to get her hands dirty and is often the first to see the practical obstacles to any given plan or ambition. She doesn't gloss over the unpleasant, she attacks it head on with a fixed determination at odds with her bubbly personality. This can be a real weakness, because it is easy to get hung up on the details; losing the big picture. It is a strength as well, as Ginny never stops until she breaks through those details. She's a girl who makes things happen.

Much of who she is has been shaped by her family… especially her brothers. Some might call Ginny fearless, but the truth is that she realizes that there are things out there that deserve her fear. Her family was active in the first war and her parents were devastated by the meteoric rise of the Dark Lord. Their blood status has saved them a place in a society they do not believe in, so they have turned in on each other… depending on each other for strength. Ginny has no idea what she would do without the support of her family. That strength has allowed Ginny to remain open to others as well. She still believes that the Dark Lord can be defeated so long as there are people out there willing to trust and love and hope.

Though a bit overzealous at times, Ginny is just a girl. She is an amazing seeker (largely because of her fearless nature). A great witch to have at your back in a fight, Ginny won't back down and is hard to intimidate. Of course, she's also quite stubborn and hates being told what to do. She loves Quidditch (playing & watching - esp. the Harpies), the Giant Squid, her friends and her family… She hates snobs, bloodest propaganda, prissy girls (Lavender Brown), and being underestimated. No matter what… it is love or hate. Neutrality is a luxury Ginny doesn't feel she can afford.

Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Family:
The Weasley family has a long and proud history. While they are pure, it is not something they value in themselves. They are poor, but gold is not important either. What the Weasley's find to be their real strength is the love they feel for each other and their willingness to do what is right even when it isn't easy or comes at great personal cost.

parents
Arthur Weasley - Arthur is a man who knows what is important in life. He was an excellent student with quite a bit of potential. In school, he fell madly in love with Molly Prewett, eloping directly after graduation. He took a job in the Ministry and settled down to raise his family in a pieced together house that they lovingly called 'The Burrow.' As terror gripped the Wizarding World, Arthur (and Molly) joined the Order of The Phoenix in order to help close friends and family fight the rise of Lord Voldemort. Battle after battle was lost, but Arthur swore to keep the war alive despite the odds… if only to honor the memory of those loved one's lost during the fight.

Molly nèe Prewett - Molly is not a woman to be underestimated. She was a good student, much like her daughter in that she was bright and bubbly, outgoing and quite popular. That didn't keep her from falling for the boy with ginger hair any more than her parents concerns kept her from marrying him as soon as they left Hogwarts. Along with her brothers (Gideon & Fabian), she and Arthur joined the Order of the Phoenix, but pregnancy sidelined her in 1970 as she had the first of what would be seven children. IN some ways, Molly never got over the war. She was often plagued by the deaths that occurred (not the least of which being her brothers). She became fiercely protection of her family and threw herself into caring for them. While she could be overbearing at times, it was always with the biggest of hearts. Molly's greatest happiness is her family.

siblings
Bill Weasley (25) - Bill was already ten by the time Ginny was born and went off to Hogwarts when she was just one. As a consequence, Ginny doesn't know Bill all that well, but they are close nonetheless. He was always the cool one, and their temperaments are quite similar.

Charlie Weasley (24) - Ginny didn't get to spend much more time with Charlie. He was off to Hogwarts by the time she was two. On holiday, Charlie was always the most fun, goofing and making Ginny laugh. He was also a great Seeker and taught Ginny a lot of the basics early on.

Percy Weasley (20) - Percy was born a prig. Ginny just doesn't get it. He was the only brother to hang around a bit, but Ginny would have readily traded him in for Bill or Charlie. He was just an odd duck… Genetic throwback maybe?

Gred & Forge Weasley (18) - If Bill & Charlie were fun, Fred & George were a blast to grow up with… most of the time. They taught Ginny a lot of what she knows. They also too the heat - anything she did to get in trouble was usually mild by comparison and they were always quick to cause a diversion. Ginny is very close to Fred & George. She tagged along with them as much as she could until they went off to Hogwarts. They have taught her that you can do anything, no matter how outrageous, if you just dare to.

Ron Weasley (16) - The closest in age, Ron was Ginny's constant companion (much to Ron's disgust most of the time). Like close siblings, they bickered a bit more, partially because they had very different temperaments. She was dead jealous when he went to Hogwarts a year before she did and it drove her insane to be treated like a child when they were practically the same age!

Biography:
Childhood/Pre-Hogwarts - Ginny was born into a legacy. Her family had been through the war… the fall of the resistance and the rise of Lord Voldemort. They had also gone through the birth and childhood of count them six boys! Ginny was a long awaited breath of fresh air. Unlike Ron, she had an advantage. Everything she did was a first simply because she was a girl. Unfortunately, that also meant being treated as somehow more delicate… precious at times. This led to some very early explosions of temper and a strong desire to prove that she could throw down with any of her brothers. It didn't help that she had REALLY cool brothers!

One of these tantrums led to Ginny's first display of magic… sparks flew from her hair as she stood in The Burrow's kitchen, hands on hips, face red, demanding that she be allowed Bills old toy broom. She was about three and already madly in love with Quidditch, though her brothers didn't often let her play with them. Of course, that didn't keep her from sneaking out and stealing their brooms when they were away.

Being spoiled was hardly the worst of Ginny's problems, but her parents did a good job of keeping the world's troubles in perspective. As she grew up, Ginny was aware that the world around them was growing darker… getting harder. Her parents had to take precautions and The Burrow was a safe house of sorts for those being cast out by Wizarding politics, so Ginny was exposed to a wide variety of people and ideas. Arthur and Molly were careful to teach them all about the world outside of The Burrow though, lest they be unprepared. It didn't matter how dark it got. She had hope because she knew that there were people ready to fight.

That was what Ginny took from her parents… hope. Ginny took gifts to school from everyone in her family. From Bill, she learned to be herself. Charlie taught her to look to the best side of life. Fred & George taught her to be daring. Ron taught her not to take herself too seriously. Okay… Percy just taught her not to be a git… What she didn't realize was just how that coddling and protection she hated contributed to a feeling of invincibility that wasn't entirely realistic.

Hogwarts Years so far - Waiting to go to Hogwarts nearly killed Ginny. At least that was how it felt at the time. The years seemed to drag by as her brothers left her behind. When Ron left… TORTURE! There are stacks of journals under Ginny's bed with juvinile scribbles of different house crests… Hufflepuff… Ravenclaw… and of course, Gryffindor - even though it no longer exists. She spent hours daydreaming; speculating. Hufflepuff was the most likely, though Ginny feared Ravenclaw possible. Who wanted to spend seven years with a bunch of nerds though?

She got her wish. As Ron went back for his second year (Fred & George for their fourth & Percy for his sixth), Ginny stepped on the train and found herself tossed into a sea of strangers. Ron had his own friends, and while Percy spent a couple minutes bossing her around, she quickly slipped away. It was her first taste of true freedom and Ginny was hooked on the adrenaline. Friend or foe? Some she knew… of course! Others… the danger was thrilling. Ginny decided to leave that detail out of her first owl home. At the Sorting, the Hat didn't seem to think Ravenclaw much of an option (Ginny was a bit insulted - she didn't want to hang out with a bunch of nerds, but that didn't mean she didn't mean that she didn't want the option), grumbled something about Gryffindor but settled on Hufflepuff quickly.

There, Ginny found herself on safer footing. No one was free with political opinion. In truth, few eleven-year-olds have political opinions. Still, her brothers had already paved the way and she started to mingle freely among her new housemates. Classes started, and Ginny was surprised to find that they weren't that horrid. What she was really looking forward to was flying! Ginny spent as much time as she could out of the castle. She loved the lake and the giant squid as well as the greenhouse and the forbidden forest - which wasn't all that forbidden thanks to Fred & George's tutelage.

By her second year, Ginny had formed her own social circles. She joined the Charms Club (they were a bit of a specialty) and the Dueling Club. In her third year, Ginny tried out for the Quidditch team but didn't quite make it. Her skill in both areas brought her to the attention of Prof. Slughorn, and she was invited to be a member of the Slug Club. [this is up for discussion - personally, I think her skills would overcome any questions about her families loyalties & I think it would be important to the resistance to have a member inside the Slug Club]. By her fourth year, Ginny made Seeker for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team… one of her proudest moments.

More important than any of this was a club she could not speak of. Ginny became an active member of the growing student resistance. It was a natural progression from the politics of her youth to the politics of like minds rebelling against an indoctrination into Lord Voldemort's ranks. It would be easy to let the resistance take over… if they don't fight, what kind of life will there be? Ginny hasn't found an answer to that question yet, but she finds herself living each day. She plays Quidditch, enjoys her studies, flirts, loves, hates, and continues to fight because if she doesn't keep living, they've already won.

Samples.
You can provide links, if you have them, instead of writing new samples.
Journal Entry: [info]weaselxpride - This is the journal I will be using for Ginny - obvs. it is a different game premiss but you can get a pretty good idea…
RP: This is NOT Ginny… I play Draco & Narcissa on this PSL but it gives a good idea of my playing style. If you need a GInny RP, I can likely scare one up or write one.

Other Questions. - just for our curiosity
What points would you like to see advanced with your character?
I would like to see Ginny's role in the resistance develop. I am also quite interested to see how/if her role without Harry Potter develops in this different setting.

What types of things would you like to see your character involved in?
Ginny is very involved in life in general. I like to keep her into everything… school, social stuff, Quidditch, clubs… and of course, the resistance.

What about their family? Can you see them involved in game plots including possible killings, other crimes, activism, scandal, or other things? Let us know what you'd like to see and how far you're willing to have your character's family involved in things.
I can not see how Ginny's family could help but be involved in things… and I am keen to have them wrapped up in the middle of the whole mess. To that end, I am more than happy to NPC any family members necessary, but it is not necessary. I am also happy to just roll with whatever you toss me. Plot heavy is good though, I wouldn't have been interested in Ginny if I wasn't willing to accept a lot of plot being thrown my way.
